Stockbreeder's nightmare
(Thanks to L.J. for the English translation)
This is the story of what happened
to me
after I left the Edenhill Kennel, where I was born into a safe,
secure and comfortable home and where I had all
of my mother Linda's loving care and attention.
I'll show you some photographs
so that you'll better
understand my sad story and you'll also
be able to follow my recovery.
I was born on the 13th of February 2004.
I have 5 brothers and 6 sisters.
Here's a picture of me at 8
weeks.

I really have to tell you that
I was the handsomest male puppy
of the litter, at least according to my second mom Linda.
I left my 2 mothers, Mommy
Honey and Mommy Linda
to go to my new family in the USA
where I was to live with one of my sisters.
Linda often asked about me,
she needed to be paid
by my new master, a breeder, who gave her all kinds
of excuses for delaying the final payment.
After many calls and emails,
Linda got angry and demanded, last July,
that my new owner return me to her. He told her that I had a
small infection and that he wanted to cure it before sending me
back.
I finally was reunited
with Mommy Linda
on the 25th of October 2004.
She started to sob when she saw me.
I knew that she was happy to see me but
she was sad to see the state that I
was in..... I really wasn't well......
Here are some photos that Mommy
Linda took last October 25th.
In the car with Daddy JP

Ouch! My right eye is sore
and leaky, I don't know why and
I have a bump on my head that's sore as well.
Mommy Linda checked me out
from head to tail as soon as
I got in the car.

I have to tell you that I was really frightened, in the car.
I didn't know what was happening....
But Mommy Linda comforted me, and she kept wiping
my eye which was constantly leaking.
On the road to Ayer's Cliff,
Mommy Linda and Daddy LP
decided to change my name. You've probably noticed
that they just switched two letters around, Daddy JP and PJ.
I'm really proud of my new name.
I must say that on the 25th
of October
I thought it was my birthday.
Mommy Linda and Daddy JP took lots of pictures of me.
I'll tell you about each picture and about the report
given by my friend Patrick, the veterinarian,
whom I met the day after I arrived.

This difference could have been caused by his internal parasites

I feel so much better since
I've come home.
I've gained 20 lbs and and I've grown 2 ½" .
Mommy Linda has taken care of me the whole time.
After several weeks on antibiotics,
Mommy Linda got very worried
when she pulled a small piece of bone from my right eyelid.
We went back to the vet who called the Veterinary Hospital
in Saint Hyacinthe right away. I had an appointment for
the 16th of December, but because of another change
in my leaky eye, I had to be admitted to hospital
as an emergency patient on the 8th of December.
I was examined by several doctors. I had a scan on the 9th of December
and was operated on the 10th of December.
Here is a summary of what they found and what they did.
Trauma to the head.
Infection has eaten into the lachrymal canal of the right eye.
Perforation of the conjunctive.
Bone infection
Abscessed frontal bone following bony deposit.
Temporary drain installed in nasal canal of right eye.
Fistula between frontal abscess and nasal canal.
They scraped the bone, cautaurized a few holes in the eyelid
and the lachrymal canal. One of the vets suspected an anomaly
in my right eye. They took me through an obstacle course
in the hospital corridors and found that I was blind
in the right eye. However, could the blindness be reversed???
I had a lovely Elizabethan collar and had
several tubes attached to me.
I
wonder, who or what negligence and negligent are?
Mommy Linda keeps saying that the reason
I've had all of theses problems is because of negligence.
And its because of neglect that I've suffered for so long.
I don't know who neglicence and neglect are but
they really don't like dogs!
On Sunday the 11th, I had a
lovely visit at the hospital
from Mommy Linda and Daddy JP.
They brought my favourite blanket, a new toy and
some lovely liver which Mommy Linda had cooked for me.
I even got to run outside in the snow!
Today the 14th of December I get to go home.
I'll give you all of the latest news as soon as Mommy Linda
sends the pictures to Auntie Hélène.
Well, I'm back home now. Mommy
Linda had the biggest pen
in the kennel all ready for me. I get to go upstairs with her durin
the day. I can go and tease grand-ma Anna et great-auntie Bertha.
Here are some pictures of me.
I must tell you that I feel
very good. My head does'nt
hurt as much as it did before the operation.
I have discovered the Christmas
tree, but mommy Linda
doesn't want me to get too close to it.
Wowwww...... I'm
getting very popular !
Here's an update on my new
life.
I celebrated my first bithday
last February.
Here are a few pictures of my party.

For sure, Anna was also
invited. |
As for my health, well as you
can see,
I did catch up in weight and in height.
I guess I won't see with my right eye
but it's ok.
And you know
what...
There has been a few things
happening at the kennel.
First, there is a new fuzzy
dog that
arrived in September. He is kind of strange,
he really doesn't look at all like the rest of the bunch.
His name is Aston and he's
a Otterhound.
Here's a picture of him taken on the
plane on his way here.

An another thing.....
Guess what ?
Mommy Linda and daddy JP finally
tied the knots...
Yep, October 8th 2005 was the
big day.
Should I show you a picture
?
Well, here it is... but keep
it a secret.

Another secret for you all...
I'm very happy now !
